A real-time, cross-platform operator panel for Asterisk

I thought it might be interesting to see what kind of applications other users of Asterisk-Java are building on top of our library. Therefore we will see a series of blog entries here featuring the products of our users.

iSymphony is an easy-to-use, Java-based client/server software for managing phone calls via the Open Source Asterisk platform.

It uses Asterisk-Java to connect to a plain Asterisk server or iPBX, an Asterisk appliance sold by i9 Technology. iSymphony consists of a server and a client application both written in Java for platform independence.

A free edition for non-commercial use is available for download.

Do you also have an interesting project or product that makes use of Asterisk-Java? Let me know and present it here.

Re: Users: iSymphony

Saw your request for applications that are using asterisk-java and thought I'd give you a pointer to ours.

QLess is a virtual queue management system for restaurants, theme parks, casinos, doctor's offices -- basically anywhere people are standing around waiting for a service. It holds the user's spot in line and lets them know how the line is moving along and when they reach the front by calling their cell phone. Then the user is free to wander off and make better use of his time.

You can check out our web site at http://qless.com and try out the voice interface at 1-866-66-QLESS. If you'd like a demo of the web interface, let me know and I'll send you the info.

The entire app is written in Java, and we're using asterisk and asterisk-java for all of the voice communication pieces. It was unbelievably easy to get up and running with both technologies, and they have both been rock-solid reliable. Thanks so much for all of the great work, and keep it coming!
